I started rapping at 13 years of age, learned how to format my raps at 19 in the Marine Corps, and got in the studio for the first time with DJ Kemit of Arrested Development in 1999. I worked with two live bands from 1999 until 2003, writing, recording and performing. In 2006 I graduated from Georgia State University and released my first solo album The Graduate Program. In 2010 I received my Master's from The New School University in NYC and released my sophomore album Migration of the Soul'd Kind featuring production from !llmind and Steve Wallace. We had our first son in 2012 and I released my third studio album; CIVILiAM in 2014. This is my seminal coming of age project; my most vulnerable work to date. One year later and we had our second son born before Christmas in 2015. I released my first mixtape in 2015 (recorded and mixed on my phone using n-track) The Now and Later Mixtape vol 1. Then in 2017 I released CodeSwitching; 14 songs written to a beat tape released by James Data that landed me a coveted distribution deal with AWAL. Over the next couple of years I released three or four singles, one of which landed me a write up in Stars n Stripes magazine; Nuchi Du Takara is a record about the military presence and injustice in Okinawa. In 2021 I dropped The Dirty South Chronicles; an album that challenges the status quo and offers solutions. And early last year (2022) I completed the second release of CHAKRAS 2.0, my 6th studio album and my first foray into the realm of New Age or Experimental Rap. I am currently working on my 7th full length EP with anticipated release date for 1st quarter 2024. .... and at 49 years young I still have more to share
